Lightmen Painting is hiring a commercial painting estimator to help price projects, build scopes, and support the growth of our commercial work.

This role is for someone who understands commercial estimating, project scope, production planning, and professional communication. You should be comfortable reviewing plans, walking sites, identifying labor and material needs, and creating estimates that are accurate, competitive, and profitable.

Commercial painting is a different animal than residential. It requires stronger planning, better attention to logistics, and a clear understanding of scope, access, scheduling, and production. We want someone who can think clearly, price intelligently, and help us pursue the right jobs.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced, organized, and capable of handling more complex estimating needs without making a mess of the numbers.

Requirements

  • Experience estimating commercial painting projects is strongly preferred
  • Ability to review scopes, plans, and site conditions
  • Strong understanding of labor, materials, access, prep, and production
  • Ability to create detailed, organized estimates and proposals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working with numbers
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Experience with takeoffs, bid review, or construction-related estimating is a plus
  • Knowledge of coatings, substrates, and commercial project workflow is a plus
  • Ability to coordinate with project managers, field staff, or clients professionally

  • Review commercial project opportunities
  • Walk sites and assess scope, logistics, and production needs
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid details when applicable
  • Build organized and accurate commercial painting estimates
  • Coordinate with leadership on pricing strategy and project fit
  • Help track bids, follow-up, and estimate outcomes
  • Identify labor, material, equipment, and access requirements
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, and internal team members
  • Help support profitable project selection and execution planning
